Her year of birth is also recorded as 1832 and as ca 1838. The 1865 census shows her as 29 years old. The 1900 census shows her year of birth as 1837. When she died her year of birth was recorded as 1838.

She was 25 years old when she married in January 1862. Her father was Syver Olsen of Lytomt in Trømborg.

Maren married Johan Martin Jensen Hauger, son of Jens Mathisen and Kirstine Frederiksdatter, on 9 Jan 1862 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Johan Martin Jensen Hauger was born in 1839 in Spydeberg, Østfold, Norway and died in 1917.)

  Marriage Notes:

In 1865 they were cottagers with land on the Fuskhytten nedre farm in Askim. Johan M was 27 and Maren was 29 years old in the census. They had three children with them: Caroline (4), Syver (2), and a fosterdaughter Maren S. Pedersdatter (9, born in Eidsberg).

In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed the Blunkeslet farm in Askim. They had three sons with them, all unmarried: Ole, Martin and Anders. They also had a grandchild with them, Paula Kristine Hoel, born in 1897 in Askim. ^{3 5}
