In the census for 1900 he was a widower. He owned and farmed the Berget farm in Skiptvet. His unmarried daughter Karen was living with him. Karen's son Marius Johannessen was also with them. 2


Jakob married Marie Hansdatter. (Marie Hansdatter was born in 1816 in Spydeberg, Østfold, Norway and died in 1865-1900.)

In the census for 1865 they owned and farmed the Berget farm in Skiptvet. He was 54 years old and she was 50. They had 2 daughters and 3 sons with them. The oldest, Karen, was not listed with the family. 3
