In 1801 they were cottagers on Præstegaard in Askim. Gunder was 57 and Christence was 55 years old. They had two of their children with them: Anders was 16 and Rangnild was 13. Their daughter Gunhild appears to have been a servant on the Rom Nordre farm at the time. ^{1 3}
