Martin came from Kristiania in 1846. He bought the Bjørnebekk (u. Øvre Rud) farm in Askim in 1849 for 64 spdl.

  Research Notes:

The year of his death is recorded as 1835 but is incorrect given dates of his children and of his purchase of Bjørnebekk. Also, he was married in October 1849 at the age of 53.

His wife is listed as a widow in the 1865 census. Perhaps he died in 1855.

His father was Andreas Schøne. ³

Martin married Anikken Kristoffersdatter Tornerud, daughter of Kristoffer Larsen and Anne Amundsdatter, on 31 Oct 1849 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Anikken Kristoffersdatter Tornerud was born in 1814 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

The best men at their marriage were Johannes Kykkelsrud and Iver Løken. ¹
