The 1801 census shows him as "vandfør", disabled.

His age was recorded as 36 years when he died.

Gunder married Ragnhild Paulsdatter on 13 Nov 1804 in Bakker, Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹

  Marriage Notes:

Gunder farmed on the Bakker farm in Askim with his father for a few years. His sons Jørgen and Paul were born on Bakker. In 1810 the family was on the Engen (u. Eidareng) farm, where they had their daughter Karen. Shortly after they moved to the Mørkved-Teigen farm, where Gunder died as a cottager in 1812. His son Paul died the same year. Ragnhild remarried with Kristoffer Engebretsen and stayed on Mørkved-Teigen where her son Jørgen was confirmed in 1820.
